INSPIRING (2010)

This is the accompanying folder for INSPIRING, a wall-text painting installation part of the 2010 group exhibition Giving Notice: Words on Walls at Dalhousie Art Gallery (Halifax).

INSPIRING was done as a response to Dalhousie University’s ‘Inspiring Minds’ slogan. To create the painting, Cathy Busby collected taglines from six other universities and seven corporations which all contained a form of the word ‘inspiring' then matched these slogans with colours used in Benjamin Moore's 'Inspired by You' campaign. The taglines and their source companies are listed in this folder.

Giving Notice: Words on Walls was curated by Peter Dykhuis and also included work by Brad Buckley, Garry Neill Kennedy, Gordon Lebredt, Micah Lexier & Christian Bök, and Lawrence Weiner.
