We Call SFU (2017)
WE CALL is a multi-iteration wall-text work. This version was installed at Simon Fraser University's Teck Gallery (2017-2018) and the text highlights some of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TAC) of Canada's Calls to Action, released in June 2015. For this site-specific work, I selected and edited the calls that are directed towards government agencies responsible for education, post-secondary institutions and cultural organizations. The wall-texts are abridged versions of these calls, specifically numbers 7, 8, 10, 11, 16, 57, 62, 63, 83, and 86, which are printed in full in the "WE CALL" folder. WE CALL was funded by BC Arts Council and the Canada Council. A parallel installation was produced in collaboration with the Gitksan Wet'suwet'en Education Society in Hazelton, BC, and a re-articulation of this work was made at Upper Canada College in Toronto in 2018.
