SORRY (2005)
This pamphlet accompanied Cathy Busby's billboard style installation, SORRY, presented at the MacMaster Museum of Art in 2005. This photographic installation zero's in on the mouths of public figures at the moment of apology, attempting to distinguish what is important in the blur of these media moments.
In this text, Busby expands on the ways she was thinking about public apologies in the early 2000s, the space they occupy in our social consciousness, and how the tension between authentic remorse and a placating gesture gets complicated by the media spectacle.
