PICKLED ART CENTRE OPENING (2012)

At part of the exhibition (Da Bao) (Takeout) in 2012, the Varley Art Gallery (Markham, Ontario) installed an enlarged vinyl snapshot of the group of people who attended the opening of Your Choice at Pickled Art Centre (Beijing) in October of 2008. 

The group photo had been taken in front of my work Jinkelong 2008, one of two sign vinyl images that I fabricated during Beijing's Olympic year. This work looked at the wrapping of food in the Jinkelong grocery store, and the presence of vinyl signage in the city. My artist book YOUR CHOICE is an accompaniment to these vinyl works and documents additional examples.

This group photo was also included in Varley's accompanying publication (DA BAO) (TAKEOUT), as seen in the last image.
