An ovular ceramic platter painted in a wispy grey blue holds the words BRIDGE OVER. These thin tall letters were revealed through tape masking to show the white paint underneath and they bend and stretch to fill the plate.
The backside of the ovular ceramic platter is painted in a light creamy orange and white. TROUBLED WATER is written in thin tall tape-maksed letters which reveal the white under paint and swell to fit the plates' convex shape of the plate.

PLATE SERIES (2016)

Made during Gillian MacMillan's Raid events (2016-2025), this series of ceramic plates holds space for collectivity in times of resistance and resilience. The sentences are all read from front to back, encouraging tactile engagement to hold, view and flip. For each one, tape stenciling techniques were used to create the lettering.
